Kia Optima Hybrid
The 2019 Kia Optima Hybrid is redesigned to be smarter and more efficient with improved aerodynamics and an updated powertrain including new six-speed automatic transmission and 2-liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine for a combined 271 lb.-ft. of torque. The hybrid powertrain has an EPA-estimated 41 MPG and 3-way Drive Mode System (Normal / Eco / Sport) make it know that this is not your average hybrid.
Kia Optima Hybrid Upgraded for Efficiency
With a combination of aerodynamic shape and advanced innovations for the engine, battery, and recharging, the Optima Hybrid is packed with enhancements to help you stretch your fuel even further. By closing the front air flow at certain speeds and temperatures, the Active Air system increases efficiency while reducing wind noise. The 2-liter GDI engine is coupled with an electric motor that works seamlessly together or separately for the optimum combination of power and fuel efficiency. The hybrid’s new lithium polymer battery delivers 13% more energy and 19% more power while the regenerative braking utilizes the kinetic energy to recharge the electric motor’s battery while you drive. The Optima Hybrid has an EPA-estimated 39 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway, and 41 mpg combined which means more time driving and less time stopping at the pump.
The Dual Power of Hybrid
Meet Kia’s Full Parallel Hybrid system which combines cutting-edge design to couple an electric motor with a 2-liter GDI) engine. This advanced hybrid system is intelligent enough to switch between the gas and electric motor depending on your driving conditions. It uses exclusively electric power during start-up and low-speed driving, and both gas and electric systems at full acceleration ensuring you have optimum power when you need it most.
